Sony MEX-BT2500 CD/MP3 car stereo
This is a great in car audio player. Although this model is now superceeded by newer versions, this still has everything you could ask for and more in a car stereo.
You can connect MP3 devices/mobiles to play music through it by Bluetooth or use the now common aux connector lead that plugs in to an auxilary port on the front of the stereo to connect your MP3/iPod. You can play CD's and connect a multi changer into the rear.
The CD player will also plays MP3 CD's so you can pack loads of your favourite songs onto a CD on your computer and not have to carry so many CD's in the car.
The stereo has a 'hands free' facilty (the main reason i purchased this stereo)via the Bluetooth connection which, once you have paired your phone with this device (which recognises and remembers up to 5 phones)the stereo becomes your hands free kit when you are driving and routes the calls through your car speakers. The mobile and stereo automatically pair when the stereo is activated by the cars ignition or switching it on. There is a small microphone on the front that picks up your voice and calls are answered and stopped by pressing the volume control button. The stereo cannot access your phone's address book as it only has an 'answer/end call' function but you can do this yourself to make calls to different people and the stereo automatically cuts out and into hands free mode when you press 'call' on your phone.
The Bluetooth facilty on the stereo can be switched 'on or off' as you wish by accessing the stereo's menu.
Sound quality is great whatever way you are using it to play and listen to your music, with enough functions in the equalizer to tweak it to how you like it.
Overall i am very happy and impressed with this stereo and would like to see how much Sony were able to improve on this with their newer models as this one is right up there to start with!
As it is now very much the 'old' version, you can grab a bargain by picking up a good quality secondhand MEX BT2500 for a fraction of what a newer version will cost and you will find with a bit of research online, there is not a lot of difference in what they will do.
