A bit advertise-y and staged
So this is part of a show series sponsored by Keene mining equipment. There is some good footage of the Yuba river in NorCal, and some interesting perspective on good techniques for river mining, but there is a lot of product promotion. Some of the shots it seems like gold was "placed" to be found, instead of filming until god was actually found. A little of the excitement seems forced. But heck, it's a good ol' American TV show! I would say this is good and interesting material, but a little pricey for the actual content and value delivered.
