Brilliant bit of kit.
Amazing piece of tech, so easy to use & the fact that you can access a cardiac expert 24/7 if you need one is fantastic - subscription is required for that & works out around £90 a year, if you don't want to pay that this still works brilliantly for free but only tests for Atrial Fibrillation, peace of mind for under £100 - bargain!

10/10, great printer & compatible toner cartridges available for under £13.
1 of 1 found this helpful I Got this for my parner as she does cardmaking and needs a laser printer in order to foil embellishments on them.
This starts up very quickly and is ready to print in around 10 seconds, the print quality is very, very good, my parner will be printing mostly large solid shapes and silhouettes & these print perfectly along with normal text.
It is pretty much a no frills printer with no special features, but what it does, it does very well indeed.
The only thing I would mark it down for (and this is really nit-picking as it's my fault for not checking the printer specs before I bought it)is the way the front feeder slot works. It takes in the paper fine, but unlike the old Brother HL 1230 we had, it doesn't have a rear exit point, which means the paper has to go around a set of rollers and out the top, this is not a problem for normal use, but if you use heavy card stock (Brother says it won't take heavy card, but I have used 300gsm on this printer and 400gsm on the HL1230 and it printed fine) it curves it quite a lot and even if you put something heavy on the card until it cools down, the top and bottom edge still have a slight curve, but normal paper flattens itself out as it cools down.
In the other reviews I read, they all seem to say that this model is a real workhorse and will last for years, and the only thing that seemed to be highlighted was that the toner on this model runs out quicker than usual, but if you use a little piece of black tape to cover the window on the toner cartridge when it tells you it is empty and stops working (check it out here http://www.fixyourownprinter.com/forums/laser/39806 )it will fool the sensor and you get upto a 1000+ extra prints - this printer was sold with an empty toner cartridge and I did the tape trick and it started printing perfectly right away, over a 100 pages so far and still going strong, also compatable toner can be bought on EBay for under £13 inc P&P, so I would say this is one of the cheapest printers you will ever own.
It connects either by USB or the older parallelI port, and I have it working on my PC running Windows XP, and it also works fine on my partners new laptop running Windows 7, and all the drivers and software are available on the Brother website.
If you want a basic Laser printer that is cheap to run and does great prints, look no further.
