A reliable and long life product
This is the second Panasonic DMR-E227 which I have possessed and replaced the first one which had given me some years of problem free recording . I found the quality of recordings to be very good even in the maximum recordings of 8 hours . The first one was a brand new item whereas this second one is a refurbished unit which was not supplied with an original remote control and identifying the purpose of each key on the replacement remote takes a little time

My Error
I made a mistake in ordering this unit as I thought it was a caller display unit giving a history of past calls and the dates on which they were received . In fact the unit only registers the last number calling with no access to history . However it does reliably and accurately show the last calling number . As such I found it's value rather limited although a well made product
