Elephant Diaries Series 2
A follow on to the first series in which babies introduced in Series 1 are now growing up. Wonderful to see how much happier they are in series 2 after the traumas they have been through. New rescues highlighted and a few heartbreaking moments but the dedication and love of the carers shines through as they battle to save every baby in their care. What a pity there were only two series. I could happily have watched a third.

The Rolls Royce of mixers
2 of 2 found this helpful This is only my second Kenwood. The first one died on me recently after forty years of service. If this one lasts as long it will outlive me. This mixer has a quiet motor and is such a pleasure to use. For Kenwood fans the tools are attached in exactly the same way as on older machines. The new addition which I didn't have previously is a splashguard which would have been useful when my children were learning to bake! Also my old Kenwood didn't have a pulse function. Apart from that, and of course the motor is much more powerful. My old machine had a 500w motor. This one has a motor of 1000w. I imagine that it will have no problem kneading bread dough or making up large batches of pastry or cake mix. The bodywork on this model is silver and looks very nice on the worktop. It comes with a stainless steel bowl, although I find the old white bowl from my previous mixer fits just as well. The tools have adjustable height which may or may not be useful. Time will tell. When the mixer arrived the tool heights were set to fit the steel bowl exactly. All in all it feels just like welcoming back an old friend. I am glad that Kenwood have not changed too much about the design. There is a greater range of speeds on the dial and the bodywork has a more modern look, but otherwise my new Kenwood mixer is just as good as the old one, which sadly doesn't seem to happen very often these days with cheap imports replacing older more reliable machines. I didn't have any of the Kenwood attachments for my old machine so cannot comment whether attachments made years ago would fit the new Kenwood machines. However as a food mixer I am very pleased with this model and am looking forward to many years of using it.
