A great alternative to Tascam or Fostex cassette multitracks
Wanted an old school 4 track cassette Portastudio with pitch control for ambient sound experiments. The sexy models are Tascam and Fostex, and command premium prices as a result but this late model Yamaha has benefitted from all of the improvements over time that Portastudios went through, and is very full featured, using chrome tapes with Dbx noise reduction. It has two speeds, plus pitch control, two aux sends per channel, a master mix,, switching for phones and/or monitors, 3 band E.q on each channel and insert points on channels 1 and 2, and on the stereo mixes. If you aren’t a logo tart, Yamahas make a great full featured bargain price alternative to the better known 4 tracks out there, and the manual for it is free and online. Very pleased with the purchase.

True Bluetooth, Great VFM, no instructions
True Bluetooth, no port hog dongle required. No instructions, so it took a while to work out how to activate Bluetooth pairing: hold scroll wheel button, plus both main L & R buttons whilst turning on the underside power switch. It's lightweight, but comfortable, and one week in, working great with my MacBook Pro. Amazing VFM at a fiver.
