Londonderry: Portrait of an ancient settlement developing into city status.
Being an Ordnance Survey large scale map of the 1900s, it is packed with information and detail. For a graphic representation of a town or city in the early 20th century UK, these maps are unbeatable, and this one is a fine reproduction, clearly printed and with an excellent scholarly essay which places the map in its historical context, and with a good selection of the street names of that date.

Scholarly and entertaining history of the first 200 years of Ordnance Survey, lavishly illustrated and well printed. All aspects of OS work covered, from walking in the hills to supplying maps to huge armies on the march - the science of map production as well as the human side of working under sometimes appalling conditions. -JPB.

Mitchell's Top 300 Names a Must for any Derry Doherty!
Expected the Dohertys to be top of the list in any Derry census, but disappointed that the McGavigans don't get a mention, considering how many of them there are in the cemetery. Maybe that's the criterion - it's only the live ones are are taken into account.
Excellent, succinct notes throughout. A must for any Derry Doherty!
