beware can burn skin badly

i took the advice of an acupuncturist and soaked a pad of gauze with this product and left on skin for about 40 minutes and my skin was burnt very badly to the point of bleeding and peeling skin. I am sure it is ok for certain things given how old a remedy it is but only to be used with caution. Saying that I saw no evidence that it actually improved the problem I was treating
