Great entertainment
What's not to like? We've read Gerry Durrell's Corfu trilogy and enjoyed how the series followed Gerry's version.

Historically interesting - and provocative
Derek Jacobi is always excellent and his Cadfael is both compassionate and firery, as circumstances require. Also, Jacobi's brief audio comments on each disk's Extra Features are quite interesting.
We are fans of British mysteries, comedies and dramas, but I must say that the penchant for muder and bloodshed sometimes bothers me. While Brit violence is not as over-the-top and the U.S. brand, it tends to be more gruesome. That said, I will continue to abide.

The Durrells: More than meets the eye
2 of 2 found this helpful We love the series and the three books it is based on. The only problem is that Season One arrived with a broken jewel case (which I have mended as well as possible with a glue).
For those wanted to know more about the family, Micahael Haggs's 2017 book, The Durrells of Corfu, offers a true and moving honest account of this remarkable family.
