Good value, solid aluminium housing & base, comfortable to use.
Good for the money (£29.99). Solid aluminium housing and base. The variable speed 600w motor is powerful enough for most tasks using good quality blades. Comfortable to use and so far cutting straight on timber and ply up to 1" thick (haven't tried on 2" timber yet).
The cable length is approx 2m. Don't be thrown off by the EU 2pin plug as you can just cut it off and fit a uk 3pin plug (EU voltage is compatible with UK voltage). Personally I cut off the Eu 2 pin plug and fitted an IEC C13 female connector (that accepts a kettle lead socket) so I can extend the cable as much as I need with various length kettle leads to suit the task at hand.
It does come with spare carbon brushes, but there's no outside access port and nothing in the instructions about how to change them. I'm pretty sure you will have to remove the outer casing to get access, but hopefully the ones on board will last a long time before needing to tackle that task. Also I couldn't find an order code for these brushes in case you ever did needed to order some.
So far I'm happy with this Katsu 600w jigsaw, it's turning out to be as good as I hoped. I like the solid aluminium housing and base and it feels comfortable to use. I would say this is going to be a great jigsaw for light and medium duty work, although in all fairness I haven't tried it on 50-65mm material yet so can't speak to that.

👍 Good steel rule. Scale layout design is well thought out and makes it easier to read, especially on the imperial side. One side is metric on both edges and the other side is imperial on both edges. It's made with thin gauge steel though and the edges were a little sharp.
