Great radio
It's a little complicated to use, but I'm getting used to it. It receives the ham bands, which is one reason I purchased it. It has separate upper and lower SSB selections, as well as AM. It seems that SSB has some filtering, as most ham retailers have. Furthermore, it comes with an extension wire antenna with a clip on the end of the wire spool for convenient rolling out of the wire for better SW reception. I've read that it's better for SW and SSB use than the 880 after it.

Great natural white light
This uses a full spectrum fluorescent bulb and because of that, the light seems brighter than the wattage would otherwise indicate.
