At least it doesn't have a happy ending!Salma Hayek's project to display the fascist dictatorship in the Dominican Republic in the 30s-40's succeeds in american emotional terms(perhaps thats why it went straight to DVD).It probably sold well in Cuba!
Tense and exciting but inevitable and predictable plot makes you watch it til the very bitter end.Great soundtrack by Van Dyke Parks. Not the usual Hollywood dross!

A James Branch Cabell Bargain!
This is a great bargain for the Cabell collector/enthusiast.One of his few novels I have never read before.
The price was extremely cheap by UK standards for a 1930's book in reasonable condition.(This is a 1932 2nd impression NOT 1971 as in the listing!)
The postage and packing was very reasonable and fast! (unlike some books I have bought thru e-bay from the US which are made prohibitively expensive by the extortionate airmail postage!)
All in all a fantastic reading copy!
