If you only buy one of the series, make it this one.
I was hoping that this series, covering psychedelia from 67 to 69 and progressive pop in 70, would be able to find enough material to go back to 66, and indeed here it is.
Bags and bags of thumping beats with early contributions from psychedelic pioneers, with a few ballads thrown in for good measure. Many contributors and groups went on to greater fame and fortune, but the ones who didn't make it contribute just as much to the fun.
Includes an informative booklet.

Buzz reigns supreme
It's by Melvins, it's not one of their massively experimental outings, and it contains good cover versions of Pink Floyd's "Interstellar Overdrive" and "Youth of America" by the Wipers. Splendidly crunchy.
