A great way to get adventurous with grids.
Making & Breaking the Grid - Timothy Samara. Really appealing book, exploring grid layouts, very clearly written, with a brief history & lots of examples. The front section deals with formal grids & the back section covers work where grids have been pulled in different directions or radically flexed. All the examples cross reference each other, to highlight their differences. A great way to get adventurous with grids.
