Battery compartment issues
This unit had all the hallmarks of being a returned product. One of the main unit battery compartment screws is impossible to turn or remove. However I was able to open it and found that the battery compartment already had Duracell batteries in - not the type of battery you would find installed even if batteries were included (they weren't).
Because the unit worked and because I was able to overcome the issue with the screw, I kept it. However I note in previous reviews that this issue with the screws in the battery compartment is not a new issue.
