Can transfer TV stuff to laptop but tinkering required!
This was bought as a replacement to one I've had for a few years which has now died (I think hard drive failure).
It is great for allowing recording of 2 programmes while watching another already recorded. Pauses, fast forwards, rewinds live TV, etc. Series link is dependant on firmware installed.
Good sized memory. Can name folders to avoid long list of recorded programmes.
BUT - the main reason I haven't upgraded to something like the Humax Fox T2 is that I like to be able to download TV programmes on to my netbook and take on holiday. It doesn't look like you can do this with any of the new fancier PVRs (although the new Humax does allow direct access to iPlayer etc if you connect to internet).
To download programmes to laptop, upgrade firmware, add functionality etc - this all takes a little fiddling and you need to search through www.toppy.org.uk on how to do this via USB cable.
I have given it only 4/5 due to some poor hardware components which look like others have issues with after a while. Also Toppy website is not easy to use for your average owner. Series link not available with some firmware.
