Misleading advertising
This device guises "PID" as a heating element. This isn't a heating element, it's a PID controlled heating device. This modulates heating with what I see to be a real proportional integral derivative. If you don't know what that means, you won't care either way. This device truly anticipates the "curve" of heating based of the rate of heating and the hysteresis of the curve of rate increase. I expected to dismantle this device and control it with a PLC, but now I'm thinking about maybe something else. It smoked a but when I turned it on, but anyone in HVAC or similar industries expect as much with new devices. Tests seem to show this truly modulates the duty cycle of heating with a proper PID. The only thing which could make this better is control over the algorithm, but that's just nitpicking. For this money, I expected magnetic stirring and heat... This thing is cool to the touch while it boils water. Insanity.

Great eye candy
My laptop is old, and this is a cheaper way to make it look good without buying a new one. Decal is very well made, looks beautiful, and is easy to apply. Another on the way for the front of the lid. Great buy!
I cleaned the surface with alcohol and a clean cloth, let it dry, and applied by removing the back decal first. After aligning it, I press one edge down, and slid my finger across the plastic front. I took my finger across it one more time for good measure, and peeled the plastic front off. I think it's there to stay!

No laser, and cheap
16 of 19 found this helpful I know it's cheap. I knew it was cheap when it was $9 TOTAL. I got this to take apart to hide in my car. Radar detectors are illegal here, and I want to put the detector under my hood, the display in my dash (using LEDs), the speaker under the dash, and a hidden toggle switch. This is the perfect device for that. Each LED has its own wire, the "detection" part has three wires, and the speaker has two.
It does not, however, have laser detection. Under where the laser "eye" is at is nothing. The English IS terrible, as other people have said; but I expected no less for this price. A GREAT device to cannibalize to make something else or an obfuscated radar detector. I have a poor rating because it does not have a laser detection.
I've added a picture of a screwdriver pointing to the place where the laser "eye" comes in... Nothing there but plastic. You get what you pay for, I just don't like the misleading laser labeling.
