Crusade - Babylon 5 Spin Off
In talking about Crusade, one must first recognize the fact that we are talking about a series that was cut short before it even aired. Only 13 episodes were produced of the show and of those 13 a handful do not do the series or its predecessor, Babylon 5 justice. True to form J. Michael Stracynski (hereby referred to as "JMS") set about to tell us a story, albeit one not as tightly plotted as Babylon 5 or as driven by multiple story arcs, but a story nonetheless. A story meant to further the Babylon 5 universe, but a story that was cut short. Captain Matthew Gideon is perhaps the most flawed. He's a gambler, he doesn't take anything from anyone, he's angry over the loss of a ship he served on, but most of all he's determined. For all that though, he's not one to jump into things head on, he more prefers to have an ace up his sleeve. That `ace' being, at least some of the time, his mysterious `Apocolypse Box,' which started sowing seeds of doubt. There is Dureena, the thief with a code of honor. Dureena is trustworthier than Eilerson, despite her background. She does provide the important role of being the one person who can pick locks, sneak in and out of places, and search alien worlds for the cure. And don't forget Galen, who is the most interesting. He's a Technomage, which means he uses science and technology to simulate magic. That means he's the one with the ability to save the crew and spy on them when needed. He rescued Gideon 10 years in the past, when his ship was destroyed and now cares for him as if Gideon were a stray cat he took in and yet more times than not, it seems he needs Gideon more than Gideon needs him. It's a shame all this potential was left in the limbo good shows go when they are taken off the air. Even more so when you learn how the first season was to end. Without spoiling things (in the case of some miracle resurrecting the series), it seems that a lot more people than we thought are using the Shadow tech that the virus is based on. President Clark's Shadow enhanced ships in `Between the Darkness and the Light' was just the tip of the iceberg. In fact, it's a lot more recent use of Shadow technology than another group in the Babylon 5 universe that bases what they do on that same technology. The former group, at the end of the season though, was willing to protect their secret use of the Shadow tech at any cost. For now though, we are left with 13 episodes, most of which do make for good television as stand-alone episodes. And yet, they could have been so much more...

Mass Effect 2 (Xbox 360)
I was blown away by the first Mass Effect, and had high expectations for the sequel. I can't recall ever anticipating a game more than I did this one. Mass Effect 2 lived up to all expectations. The story is amazing, and the ability to import your character from Mass Effect 1 really draws you in, as you feel like this is really your story. You begin to see small ripples from your choices in the first game, ripples that are sure to become huge in Mass Effect 3. You don't have to import a character to start a new game, but I highly recommend that you do. The characters are believable and feel like real people, even the alien ones. You will fall in love with them if you take the time to talk to them. Character customization is even better, as you can customize not only your character's face, but their armor, as well as decorate your room on board your ship. Gameplay is much improved from the first one, the different types of weapons in each class now all feel distinct from each other. The addition of special unique abilities for each character class makes playing as each of them a totally different experience and adds to the replay value. Loved charging at your foes as a vanguard but want to try something different? Play as an infiltrator with the tactical cloak ability, go invisible, and cause chaos. Or slow down time with the soldier's adrenaline rush. Or use the sentinel's tech armor to become the most durable combatant on the battlefield. Spawn a singularity as an adept to cause enemies to become helpless(as well as easy targets) or summon a combat drone with the engineer. I would say more but I don't want to spoil the game. You don't need to have played the 1st one to enjoy this game but its worth going back and getting it if you haven't. A must buy for RPG players and Sci-Fi buffs.

Butler does a good job and not a bad movie over all.
Gamer stars Gerard Butler as Kable/John Tillman, a man who is in prison for murder. He plays a game called Slayers (in fact he's the main star of the game), a video game in which convicts are controlled via computers to play in a killzone-like type of multiplayer battlefield. Win 30 games and you're free. Problem? Nobody ever made it to 30 games, and Kable knows it...so he plans to escape, however, upon his escape from the game he discovers that many things have changed: his daughter has been taken by child services and his wife is now a pawn for Society, a sims like type of game featuring real people. Gerard Butler offers a good performance, in fact, he was great as Kable. However most of the other actors were bad. Still it's awesome to watch any movie starring Ludicrous, he brings a special touch to certain characters. Aaron Yoo is very funny like always but this role just didn't seem fit for him. The script is also written in a funny way, it's pretty hard to understand but once you can follow the beat of the movie than it's easier to understand. The action scenes were just breathtaking, and no kidding, they were awesome! PS: The ending sucked, but the rest of the movie was pretty darn good: only problem is that the movie looks a lot like death race without the race.
