A good quality replacement PSU for the notorious commodore brick of death.
2 of 2 found this helpful A really good buy for my c64, to replace my ageing original commodore PSU, as it has built in voltage protection. The old PSUs are notorious for failing and causing serious damage to the c64 due to high voltages. I measured the voltages at the main chips on the motherboard, under load, and found them to be 5.06Volts, which is very near to the desired 5.00 volts.
The PSU also has a power switch which the original commodore PSU does not. The PSU also runs cool, which is nice.
The only negative issue was that this psu is a switching type and caused a minor interference problem on my HDTV, in that I had a faint moving horizontal bar on my hdtv. However electroware were very helpful when i contacted them and solved this minor issue by refunding the small cost of a high quality video cable which fixed the problem.
Highly recommended.
