6 Litre Oil-Less Air Compressor - 5.7CFM, 1.5HP, 6L

Don't buy a SC6H compressor.
I purchased one of these 2 years and 2 months ago. I used it once a month to blow the hairs out of my electric shaver which involved filling the tank once and switching it off, a total use of approx 30 mins in 2+ years. It is stored in a warm dry house. So a couple of weeks ago I switched it one and it started making nasty noises and cut out. So rather than throw it away I thought I would check it out and I found that the motor bearing was an open cage bearing (No 27 Part No 6204-RS) , so no lubrication and it was disintegrating either a design fault or more likely cost cutting in manufacture, 25p for an open cage bearing or 50p for a sealed lubricated bearing. I contacted SGS and said I wasn't impressed and their reply was , it's out of warranty and " you need a new motor which is £48 in total plus any delivery charge on top". So because they have produced a compressor with the incorrect bearings they expect me to buy a new motor probably still with the wrong bearings in it and go thru all this again in 2 years time when it fails again. I will buy another compressor from a different manufacturer and consign this to the bin. Picture one is of some of the bearing cage that flew out. Picture 2 is showing the oval hole where the bearing is - it should be round.
