Most Folk use their propane for heating things up. Cooking, plumbing. etc. MY reason for buying this propane was very different. For cooling! For some years now, hydrocarbon gases have been used for refrigeration. They are cheaper and actually in some instances better performing at refrigeration than the special fluorocarbon gases produced by companies such as DuPont. In my case I was creating my own blend of refrigeration gas for my car. By mixing Propane and Isobutane I made a blend of refrigerant which performs better than the standard R134a refrigerant, thus leading to cooler temperatures and lower compressor loadings.... which equal better fuel consumption. 1.6C out of the air vents with an outside temp of 22.5C (nearly freezing from the low 70's for those who still work in old money)......Nice! The added advantage of hydrocarbons is that the molecule size is larger than regular synthetic refrigerants. So it is less likely to leak through the walls of rubber hoses. After spending a minimal amount on connection adaptors I can now refill my car aircon for approx. £4 worth of gas, instead of taking it to my local garage and spending £49! This Coleman propane is 100% propane. Most others aren't (they are usually a blend of propane with added n-butane and isobutene for the UK market) This bottle will give me at least enough propane for five full recharges. The other product in my blend is a camping gas marketed by "MSR" which is a guaranteed 80:20 mix of isobutene:propane.. If you are looking for good quality 100% propane, This Coleman product is just that.

Motorboating...Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!
Fixed the common problem of noise from my boiler which sounds like, errr, a motorboat engine or maybe a helicopter hovering nearby. The bonus is that I don't need to drain down the heat exchanger if I need to replace the seal in the future. One caveat I would add to the online video is to drain down BOTH the flow and return valves before extracting the old divertor valve insert. I only did one and ended up with a lot of water pouring out into the boiler framework and over my kitchen worktop.
Easy to fit, and does the trick!
Tried it out and it wouldn't fit.....grr. thought I'd ordered one too small. Eventually tried it the other way round (front to back) and it fits like a glove. Both ends look the same so it's an easy mistake to make. The fabric feels tough, the zips smooth and strong, and it looks good too. Velcro secures the zips so they dont work loose, and the straps have easy to use tensioning clips. I need to write on the front end with a marker pen so I know which way round it goes next time I have to fit it.
