Very happy. Good value product
1 of 1 found this helpful I have absolutely no connection with anyone who makes or sells this, and no interest whatsoever in promoting it. This is purely my own review, and I shall make no amendments to what I am typing now (13.1.2017).
I moan about torches. When I buy a torch it's because I want light, but just how much light the torch gives is almost always missing in the spec. Advertisers take note, I won't buy a torch without a spec as to its lux output.
Likewise radios. I'm buying sound. Yet there's seldom useful info as to how much sound. I found only two cheap DAB radios that 'fessed up. This one claimed 2W output, the other 1W output, so I bought this one. And it's just about OK. I have normal hearing, and only use max volume if I have the electric toothbrush in my mouth, electric razor to my face, or am in the shower. It's loud enough. First test passed.
It really does appear to be waterproof, too. I'm not going to test it in a bucket of water, but it's been spayed directly in my shower several times, and is unaffected. Second test passed.
I particularly like the ergonomically optimised method for changing volume - turn the knob, not press a a button, which works when I can't see for soap in my face. On top of that the battery lasts for a decent length of time before needing a recharge, and the display warns you when the battery is low.
I don't know about sound quality. I use it for speech (Radio 4). It's fine for that. Reception I think is above average: I have a sub-£20 Aldi DAB radio (Maxtek DAM Alarm Clock Radio, Quesh 68819) which is fine for my desk, bedside etc, but sometimes needs the 70cm flexible wire aerial moving to avoid signal breakup. The one I'm reviewing has not lost reception at all, even though any aerial is wholly internal.
I'm pretty happy with what I bought. It's very good value for what it is.
A female friend commented on how amazingly camp it looks. The only other colour was pink. But its worth embracing the camp for the balance of quality and price (£25 when I bought it at the end of 2016).

Very well packed by seller, with prompt posting and very early delivery. Faultless.

Does the job
Works perfectly well for very little cost.
Only slight downside is that there is some light leakage between the two position indicators, so it might not be obvious at a glance which way it is switched.
