Mrs 'Arris goes to Paris - 1950's film

I was watching this film of TV & I missed the ending and decided to purchase it via the Internet. The film contains some delightful acting and scenes of Paris and is a charming story by Paul Gallico [who also wrote The Snow Goose - my all time favourite]. It reflects the fashions of the 1950s and it's a light, entertaining little film with some big names in it, but rather unchallenging intellectually. Its a bit soppy and presents some 'old fashioned' ideas about women in the workplace [although you can tell they are about to break out, since they get the better of the rather officious boss of the Fashion house; and it does make a refreshing change from things like Mad Max!!! The choice of colour of the 'dress' is a bit unlikely but then so is the whole story, and the ending is not strong - I want to read the story and check whether the film is true to the original. I think I will enjoy seeing it again, especially with my two little grand-daughters!

Lovely item

Very pretty and delicate too. These were well packed so arrived safely. I broke the little one I had bought in China Town Christmas Shop in October, so was quite upset. Delighted with these as replacements and a spare one too!
