Dapol - cheap and cheerful...
The Dapol masts are a fairly accurate representation of the Mk3b British catenary system. The masts themselves are plastic moldings and the details are rendered well, with the insulator suitably coloured. They are supposed to be used in conjunction with Dapol wires available separately.
This masts are however easily damaged and you will find you will no doubt end up replacing quite a few as time goes by from the occasional knock or hit. Also the Dapol wires are totally ineffective for the job, offering no resistance to pantographs which sees them generally unclip from the mast, or they break too easily as well, with the added issue that they do not seem to take solder either.
The solution is to use the wires from the Peco system, with a little adaption to the ends these will clip onto the Dapol masts, they look better they are stronger and they will allow a pantograph to run on them.
Overall, they are a cheap way to get catenary on your layout, but buy plenty allowing for breakages and use the Peco wires for the best effect..

Sorry, doesn't do what it's designed for..
0 of 1 found this helpful The object of a scart splitting lead should be that it enables the user to switch between equipment but still use the same output.
In my case I had an old Commodore 64 and a Commodore Amiga which both used the same scart channel so you would be probably right in thinking that adding this lead will allow you to use one or the other computer on the same channel depending on which computer was powered up, right?
WRONG!!
The splitter isn't fitted to compensate for interference so when i tried the Amiga the screen came up but when I turned it off and tried the C64 instead nothing came up at all. Unplugged the Amiga from all connections and suddenly the C64 screen appeared.
So this lead is incapable of carrying out the job it's designed for. It may just perform differently for items like DVD players but for computers is just doesn't work.
The cure the problem I had to buy another type of splitter lead with a built in switch to cut off the interference from one computer at a time and this worked perfectly.

OLE Wires that work...!!
Not only are these a reasonable price but they work on two formats. They obviously clip onto the Peco masts they were designed for but with a little adapting they also will work on the Dapol mast cantilever arms too and are far better looking and more robust than Dapols own wire.
