So Far So Good, Half the Cost of the Trijicon (TC) Products
To avoid confusion it is important to understand that there are two mounting points: 1. optic to mount and 2. mount to rail. This mount, model 99670 with one screw attachment, is the perfect size for a compact ACOG because it has one of each. As a result it is shorter and weighs less than the one made for a full size ACOG. Weaver makes a product designed for full size AGOG's, model 99669, that has two holes to attach the optic to the mount and two thumbscrews to attach the mount to the rail. Not sure how to torque down the thumbscrews but that's not an issue for me. If repeatable sub-MOA shooting is my intent I probably won't be doing it with a compact ACOG on a removable mount (not saying it can't be done) just not by me. The reason I didn't rate it five stars is because I can't vouch for it's durability. Unless Weaver wants to send me one to see If I can destroy it, we'll leave it at that. TC is coming out with new mounts, quick release, high mount, etc. At the time I purchased my first Weaver it seemed the best choice for a compact ACOG, because of length and weight as opposed to TC's TA51 or TA60. They are fine for full size ACOG's but too much for the compacts. It looks like the new compact ACOG's are made with 3 holes or attachment points at the base of the M-16 mount. Not sure if there are other changes but I believe these are referred to as Gen 2. Unless I hit the lottery, i'll stick to what I have, and accept the fact that the single screw will be the most likely form of a failure.

Another excellent product from Trijicon
2 of 2 found this helpful Bought this to replace an Eotech I returned for the following reasons; 1. They are taking them back no questions asked. 2. The POA/POI shifted on ALL of those tested (test yours). 3. They knew of the problem and still chose to send them "downrange" where men were dying. 4. Did nothing about it until they were going to be forced to. Getting back to the point. Research suggested a few potential problems with the MRO; difficulty installing the battery, indistinct incremental sight adjustments, dot blinking on/off while shooting. The battery installation was no problem and i'm not a watchmaker. It is necessary to install it carefully and may even require a small tool to help hold back the contact points, but was no harder than most. True, adjusting the sight increments is a little soft and is an issue that will likely be dealt with in future generations. I have had no problems with the dot blinking after around five hundred rounds. FOV is the best of any optic I am familiar with. The dot seems as if its not enclosed during BAC both eyes open shooting, which is IMO the best quality of this optic. Making the sight adjustment increments more distinct and lowering the price some would persuade me to rank it excellent.

Great choice for home defense.
2 of 2 found this helpful Both the flashlight and laser work very well. Not sure about the maximum distance but it lights up the house across the street, about 60 yards and will work further. Was relatively easy to mount on my Glock 23. I haven"t performed any durability tests but feel that it would surely stop working before the weapon, i've seen Glocks used as hammers. I mentioned home defense because of that reason and because it's only water resistant not water proof. For it's intended use I feel that it was an excellent buy at just over a hundred dollars.
