Tripp-Lite surge protectors. Worked as I had hoped.
I really like the clean look of having all the plugs in the back instead of on the top power strips. I bought two of these units, one for my office and the other for the family desktop. They are slightly large, but by setting the monitors on top, it's not a big deal.
One works as it should, but the other one has one inoperable switch labeled for the monitor. Not that big of a deal since I didn't have anything plugged into one of the AUX plugs.
Overall, I'm satisfied with them.

Origional replacement.
This is not a universal remote, but an exact replacement for my Magnavox DVRW, which was what I was looking for.

Better than a power strip
I saw one of these at my friend's computer shop awhile back and decided to get one. I had no idea they were hard to find. The reason I wanted one like this is to be able to power on and off my office equipment easily. I used a power strip before but hated all the cords being where the switch is. This box has the switches in the front and the power cords at the rear, making a cleaner look. I sat the monitor on top of it so it doesn't really take up any space. I also like that I can switch off any one device with its switch, or power off the whole box with the master.
