Easy WiFi control of AC devices
These work great for any device you want to turn on or off with Amazon Alexa or with the eWeLink phone app. Pairing is a snap. The only caveat is the device needs an AC cord. That means you can't use it directly on a device that has a transformer plug. If that's the case, just splice one of these into a short extension cord and plug the transformer into that. Do be careful when making the splice to make sure the line and neutral are correct. Neutral is the wider plug prong, and usually has raised lines on its side of the zip cord. I'd give this five stars, but the screw connectors for the AC in/out are a bit hard to make secure. You really need the plastic screw-on strain reliefs to ensure the cable doesn't come out. The connector holes are a bit small for heavier zip cord. Also, no provision for ground, so two-connector cables only.

Now my standard telephoto zoom
Tamron has long had a good reputation for building quality lenses, with a few of them (like the 90/2.5 macro) being considered classics. If this one isn't considered a classic, it should be. I own a variety of zooms in this range, from the esteemed Vivitar Series 1 (several different ones, in fact) to the Nikkor 80-200/2.8. This Tamron is the one that's usually with me. First there's the size and weight: it's by far the easiest to carry around. Second, the Adaptall mount means I can use it with my Nikon, Olympus, Minolta, Yashica and even my screw-mount gear. Third, it's nearly a constant aperture, so in the field it's very similar, exposure-wise, to the Nikon f/4 or f/4.5 zooms, or the Vivitar Series 1 f/3.5, but much lighter than either. Third, it has the most usable macro of any of the zooms I own in this range, down to 1:4 (at the long end, where you want it) with close focusing throughout the zoom range. Finally, there's the image quality. I've long been a Nikon shooter, but sometimes I find that Nikkors leave me a little "cold". People sometimes rave about Minolta lenses, especially the old manual Rokkors, as having a "Leica-like" quality. It's got nothing to do with sharpness or contrast -- I'm not sure what it is, but I can see it and, for many subjects, I really like it. This lens has that same feel that my old Rokkors have when it comes to image quality. When I process the film and scan it, the images on the screen make me smile. Pick up one of these, even if you have a comparable zoom (they are certainly cheap enough!) and see what I mean.

Nest S300BWES 2nd Gen Protect Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Alarm Detector with...

It really is a "better mousetrap."
My impression so far is that this item is much more than just a smoke detector. I like the app that controls and monitors it. Price is a bit higher than other smoke/CO detectors, but not enough so that I would hesitate to buy again. Seems like a solidly build quality product. Easy installation, convenient features. I especially like the remote alarm silence and motion detector night light.
