The Queen Mum was beloved in England, for standing strong with the King through the perils of WW II, for her part in the admired royal family, and for her continuing gracious public role into her tenth decade. This her official biography furnishes an interesting depiction of her character, wit of tongue, and joy of her social circle.

Truman, once ridiculed and not popular, is now rated in the top tier of presidents. His life story is told with admiration for his achievements, raising himself by determination from an unprivileged background, but honestly chronicling his political beginnings, volatile temper, and earthy friends.
