A Great Continuing Story
I ordered this book and "Taking Care of Business" at the same time. After completing the other book first, this seemed a natural follow-up having been written several years ago. This included a good brief primer about his life as well as updated information told in his own words as answers to questions asked of him in his long-running radio program called "Vinyl Tap".
As such, there is some repeated information here from the biography, but there is a lot of additional & great "inside" information from Mr. Bachman - told as if you had asked him the question yourself. This included questions about instruments & recording techniques used on his records, to other aspects of his experiences in the music industry. It was an easy & interesting read that was difficult to put down, chapter by chapter.
The great news is that there is another book that picks up where this one leaves off ("More Tales..."). Once you've read & enjoyed this book, like me you'll be looking for the new one!

Not Worth It!!
As a recent addition to the community of those who need a little help in cleaning up "back there" I ordered this product with high hopes upon seeing it online.
First off, I got sticker shock at how much this and other similar products cost. It was an insult, but they know that they all have us as a captive audience with few options. However, when I received it I was pleased at how easy it was to assemble - and at the extra reach to make the job easier.
The big disappointment and design flaw was that the prongs wouldn't hold onto the tissue sufficiently to get the job done satisfactorily, in spite of their barbed appearance. When I would try to use it the toilet paper would come loose, either sticking to my bottom or falling to the floor / in the toilet. The only thing I got out of trying to use it several times was a worse mess that had to be cleaned up afterward - besides on my backside.
After my 3rd or 4th frustration I cleaned it again and threw it in the towel closet and am on the hunt for a better product that is as good as it is advertised.
Final word: Don't waste your money on this product!!

I Couldn't Put it Down!
As a fan of Randy Bachman's music through the years starting with The Guess Who and Bachman-Turner Overdrive and continuing with his other recordings and projects - I was so mesmerized by this book that I could read 20 or 30+ pages without realizing it! It was that good and interesting!!
After following his career, buying his recordings, watching him on YouTube, reading another biography and meeting him back in 1976 or '77 - I thought I knew most of what there was to know about him. However, the layout of this book was excellently done in giving the reader an inside look from the perspective of those around him (bandmates, family, friends & acquaintances) as well as from the man himself.
I was amazed at the work & sacrifice that went into his career, not once but twice - and still continues. Mr. Bachman was very candid about what it all has cost him and as well as about what what he has learned along the way and what gives him joy & happiness.
It's a great look into an unusual person in a difficult & cut-throat business. I'll go a step further to say that it's also a story of triumph over the expectations of many in the recording industry as he stuck by his morals & character to succeed, notwithstanding many obstacles along the way.
You won't regret this read!
