Classic acid folk
1 of 1 found this helpful Blissed out and achingly English (well, Anglo/ Irish) slice of hippy fuelled whimsy. I love the singular arrangements and crazed harmonies; it's like stumbling across a lost tribe and giving them arcane instruments to interpret their inner souls. Brilliant. Thank the Lord for Marc Riley @6Music where I first heard the fantastic album track "Strangely Strange, Yet Oddly Normal".

Essential listening for any Hawkfan of course!
Often overlooked but a great moment in the Hawkwind canon. Sounds crisp and lively in the remastered audio version.. Has suffered from wrongly being suspected of jazz-rock leanings ('The Aubergine That Ate Rangoon') but don't forget this is the home to those absolute classics 'Steppenwolf' and 'Reefer Madness'. I especially like the trippy coda/outro of 'Kadu Flyer'. Bonus tracks are good fun and well worth getting this version for.

Wonderful wildlife which lives among us
Love 'em or loathe 'em (and I'm in the former) this is a great book for bringing to life the rich and often misunderstood life of insects and other creepy crawlies. Their long and vital association with us humans is well established, and the Richard Jones provides great examples throughout history of how we have lived with them. Whether unwelcome or encouraged, they're here to stay, and this is a recommended work by a highly readable author.
