Punching Well Beyond its Price Point in Performance and Reliability
1 of 1 found this helpful Ive read reviews stating how "Penn are not like how they used to make them in the good old days", and this is very true. The older USA made Penn reels have become an antiquated relic more suited for the collector when put side by side with these new model Spinfisher VI. The reel allows you to downsize and in some cases double the drag capacity compared to older models. Under high load the reel has performed smoothly and reliably. Efforts have been made for weight reduction with the reel still retaining its bulletproof feel. I am a fan of these models and for the price point you get a lot of reel. Would highly recommend, it performs, is feature rich and pretty much bullet proof.

For the Big Ones
Nicely constructed, light to use for a big weight rod. The rod does a fantastic job of throwing the bait out there but it needs to operate in the higher sinker weight ranges to maximise its full potential. Around the 6oz lead weight it seems to perform best. Definitely for the bigger baits and bigger fish as it was intended but in saying that leaves enough sensitivity in the tip to know the picker fish are at your bait. It does what Penn say it does and would highly recommend for bigger bait bigger fish fishing.
