Please invent one that isn't a dust trap!
This is much better than the enormous and heavyweight American built beastie that I decided not to pay to have transported when we moved from the South of England to the South of Scotland. That did the trick, but was much bulkier and heavier than this VonHaus.
It is surprisingly stable, though it does take over a large part of an average office desk, leastwise if you you place it in the middle like I have. I would not balance my iMac on the back edge as you see in some photos. Trust in technology only goes so far with me and it did wobble a bit when I typed until I moved the computer more to the centre. You should take some time to find the position that's right for you. This is my home office and if I break anything I pay for it, you might not have that problem so could be more adventurous!
Still room for my keyboard and mouse, though not the mousepad, which is not a problem. I haven't placed anything else on there as the cables to external devices all work snag-free.
It works out of the box, you should just give some thought as to placing. Might seem obvious, but you don't want to stretch to use the keyboard, for example, and you should be able to lower it and sit down without changing anything. To raise and lower, you simply grasp the handles on either side - easier than the levers on my previous one - and mover to the required height.
Why only four stars? If you're in an office and somebody else does your cleaning, oh, and you don't notice dust, then it won't be a problem for you. I, OTOH, do the housework and it is dispiriting to come into my office for some well-earned game playing recreation after a morning cleaning to find the thing covered in dust. Nothing you can do about that, as it's a static trap. Beliecve me, I've tried everything, and it always returns, usually instantly.
Five stars to anyone who can come up with one that doesn't end up looking like something from the far reaches of an antique shop's loft. Might seem churlish, but I only give five stars when everything's perfect and, for me, it ain't!
