picture WORSE than the Region 1 DVD
Quality of picture WORSE than the Region 1 DVD! Grain much in evidence in sky shots - absent from the DVD. Much vintage material should simply NOT be released on Blu-ray unless to a 4K standard of restoration. Gave it away to a charidee shoppe. Waste of money.Disappointed.

The Quick and the Dead (2003, DVD)
Fortunately I paid very little for it! I already had a video recording taken fron a TV broadcast.The colours on the DVD are less vibrant than those of the TV transmission so I was inevitably disappointed.Also converting it to 'widescreen' format is a mistake, as although it is a made-for-TV production, the format it was made for was 4:3,so to achieve the widescreen effect they have merely chopped off the top & bottom of each frame.
It would have been better if they had issued the movie as a double-sided disc with the movie in BOTH formats.(The film of the classic Henry james ghost story, The Turn of The screw - filmed as 'The Innocents'- was issued in this way & in my view is a better idea)
The commentary by the director is only mildly interesting & informative.
My advice would be to get a good quality recoding next time it is broadcast on TV.

Jeff Lynne is one of the finest songwriter/producers England has ever produced - but if you are reading this you will already know that. This concert is conclusive proof of his amazing talent and it's surely a welcomed addition to any ELO fan's DVD collection, which - let's face it - will be rather scant, most of us having had to rely on the creaky, bad quality 1970s Wembley gig as our principal evidence of the ELO's greatness. There is simply not a duff song on this DVD. Plus you get the excellent Mr Blue Sky documentary as an extra. You will not regret purchasing this DVD!.
