Two wire fan with three wires attached.
It is a fan. It works. It was cheap. But although it has three wires and a three pin connector, the outer two wires are connected together. It has no speed sensor or anything else on the third wire: just an extra negative wire.

So good that I bought another
I bought one of these a year or two ago. It was so good that I bought a second one the same for when I'm away from home. I've tried a couple of different brands, but this one is by far the best.

Works very well
This does what it claims to do. It records temperatures at the frequency you choose. You can view the results as a graph or export the data.
I bought one to monitor the temperature inside a beehive, but have also used it to record temperatures inside a fridge and to check the performance of central heating controls.
I was impressed by the first one I bought, so I immediately ordered a second one.
I shall probably buy some more...
