10 x Black Microphone Headset Windscreen Foam Mic Cover 30x8mm
    28 Oct, 2016
Great for gaming headsets and more
I primarily use these with my Logitech G230 Gaming headset (which is very popular and very common headset that people own). It's perfect and snug fit for the mic on this headset. You might be thinking (as I did at first) "I don't need this many"...And you would be wrong. The thing is these do get dirty from spittle, dust, and brushing up against things. When they get dirty they get smelly. It's simply not worth the time and effort to wash and dry them. Especially when they are cheap enough that when one gets dirty you can just throw it out and pop a fresh one on. I go through these at a rate of about one every 5-7 weeks. And sometimes it is because a knocked it off and lost it somehow (no matter how snug the fit this will happen occasionally). Don't buy one package for you and everyone in your gaming group. Buy one package just for you. And buy everyone else you want to have some their own package. Now these thing do slightly reduce pops and air disturbance. As well as acting a little bit like acoustic foam to slightly reduce the effects of bad reverb time in a room. But there isn't a phenomenal difference. It's something an audiophile might notice. But that most people listening to you won't. However, that is not the main benefit. What these are really good for is keeping the small openings on small mics clean. Have you ever had to scrape Cheetos, Doritos or the results of a bad sneeze out of the tiny opening in a small mic with something like a toothpick? The struggle is real. And you can damage your mic doing it easily. This makes that no longer a problem. Now I did say that its "great for gaming headsets and more" in the title. So what is the more part (and this is the pro tip part so pay attention kiddos)? Don't just throw the expended ones away. Do yourself a favor. Buy some Popsicle sticks as well while you're on Ebay. Because when one of these is no longer good for keeping you mic clean. you can slip it over the end of one or more popsicle sticks and use it to clean your setup! The grooves on the back of monitors. The inside edge of a monitor frame, in between your keys, the vents on your machine. These work great for that. And you can keep blasting the dirt, dust and grime out of it under a faucet, drying it with a cloth or paper towel, and reusing it until you have done a full system wipe down. THEN toss it. No concern over being too abrasive, not wiping well enough, or building a static charge. These work perfectly for this. You see Ivan? You can't afford to not get these for all the small headaches it will save you.
1 set 6ml Topping Actual Porcelain 1 Mortar and 1 Pestle Mixing Grinding Bowl

    Tiny workhorse.
It's hard to see it from the pictures. But the inside of the mortar and the crushing end of the pestle have a roughness to them (not unlike very high grit sandpaper). This grips what you are grinding very well. Be aware that if you are crushing something like fresh herbs. This also means it may stain the inside of the mortar and the end of the pestle. So if you use it to grind something like mint leaves, it should then be restricted to that purpose (as mixing flavors, aromas and colors wouldn't be desirable). But these are inexpensive enough that you can buy a few for crushing, bruising, and powdering various things. It also has an un-glazed bottom ring. Which means it grips things like a wooden surface well and won't slip out of the hand. There is a really good heftiness to it for how small it is (being able to fit in the palm of one's hand). I prefer it for powdering dry granular things. This is perfect for adding a little pulverized to powder table salt to homemade popcorn, making a small amount of bread crumb for a serving of soup, or a little powdered alum as a fixant in dyes. I've used it a lot in the relatively short time I've had it, and have yet to experience any defects or failings. Even if it would eventually break on me (I don't see that happening any time soon but nothing lasts forever). Again it is so inexpensive that a replacement would be easily affordable.

    Blue Microphones Snowflake Usb Microphone
    28 Oct, 2016
    A more compact Blue Snowball.
This thing has nearly identical specs (even down to weight) as the blue Snowball. The real difference is that it sacrifices some capability for portability. But do you really need omnidirectional recording and a mute button? Is it worth the bulk and the cumbersomeness (the Snowball's tripod is notorious for being difficult to work with). Can you give that up for greater portability through compact-ability? No facetiousness in my tone with the asking. These are the honest questions you should ask before deciding between the snowball and the snowflake (which if your even looking at the snowflake. It probably means you were looking for a comparable alternative to the snowball). Performance wise the recording difference is negligible. And with audio editing you can force results so near identical that I wouldn't doubt it if the most astute of audiophiles wouldn't be able to discern the difference post editing. Given the pricing between the two is similar. And the specs are nearly the same (there is only slight difference in the frequency response rate, with the snowflake being a bit lower across a slightly narrower spectrum). This is really a choice dependent on your style. If you are not going to be interviewing people in the same room as you speaking into the same mic. If you have no plans to get a shock mount, mic stand or scissor boom as well (this mic cannot be separated from it's stand). If you can see yourself recording on the go from a laptop. This is likely the better option for you.
