DefectiveMotor?
I purchased a weedburner (of different make) last September and had considerable use of it until the motor burned out at the beginning of this month. As this left me without a weedburner at the height of the weed season, I decided to purchase two to replace it.
I unpacked both on Tuesday and (successfully) tested both to ensure they were working then proceeded to use them on Wednesday. In view of my previous experience, I decided not only to use the burners for short periods of ten minutes only but also to rotate their use. Sadly, this proved to be a fruitless precaution as one of the machines burned out within two minutes of the second spell of use.
I have not used the other burner since but, hopefully, it will last a little longer.
