Goodnight Sweetheart ranks as one of the best comedy dramas of the 1990s
What a wonderful drama/comedy series and all in one CD collection (11 CDs). A fantastic but simple idea with lots of permeatations as to where the story could lead. Present day (1997) Gary Sparrow (Nicholas Lyndhurst) accidentally stumbles across a time portal, which takes him back to 1941 wartime London where he falls in love with Phoebe, the daughter of a pub owner. Gary's present day partner Yvonne remains largely oblivious to his double life, where he is aided by his pathetic best friend Ron Wheatcroft (Victor McGuire). The 6 series cover a 4 year period until the end of the war with lots of strong and comedic storylines. I bought this set because I enjoyed watching a number of the episodes some years ago and I wanted to enjoy the full story. There is very little to dislike about the series with the exception of a change to 2 of the main characters at the start of Series 4, which always makes things a bit awkward until you get used to the new actresses. Fortunately the replacements are as good if not better than the original actresses and very little is lost (unlike when Joey and Aveline were changed in 'Bread' all those years ago, when it was never the same again for me). Goodnight Sweetheart must rank as one of the best comedy dramas of the decade, a MUST BUY!

Iconic slapstick comedy that every university student can easily relate
'The Young Ones' helped to define Thatcher's 1980s and launched the careers of Rik Mayall and Ade Emondson (Bottom, New Statesman, Comic Strip Presents etc) in particular. These anarchic students successfully mixed together; teenage banter, slapstick, politics, Monty Python and live music to produce a unique and iconic humour, which has rarely been matched since. An excellent collection of comedy sitcom ............. so, just break open a few cans, kick off your shoes, sit back and enjoy!!

Dark and entertaining
I first watched 'The Game' at the cinema back in the late 90s and found it dark and interesting. Without spoiling the storyline for anyone the ending is a surprise and it leaves you pondering on how and why? The story follows a successful businessman (Michael Douglas), obviously affected by the suicide death of his father that he witnessed when he was just a boy. One day his wayward younger brother contacts him (Sean Penn) and gives him an unusual present. The rest of the movie sees Nicholas Van Orton (Michael Douglas) go on a soul-searching journey full of suspense and danger that leaves him questioning his own existence and makes him search deep into his soul.
