OK, better than in ear.
Sound is thin, worn under ski helmet it's almost as if it wasn't there but sound is tinny. I linked it to a kenwood remote ptt speaker. You can still hear ambient sounds too.

Ancient and out of date hardware
0 of 1 found this helpful Whilst the tripod and mount are solid enough, certainly equal to or better than the EQ3 or dare I say eq5(in parts), it's the electronics that are the massive disappointment.
Certainly solid enough, the weight of the controller is the only high point.
Looking like some electronics project from a grad student, the software and interface are laughably old. This is Windows xp era software complete with db9 plugs and sockets. Rs232 interfaces and choosing baud rates! Avoid this dinosaur product and get the heq5 instead.
