1 of 1 found this helpful This is a beautiful movie about a woman in South Africa who finds she is infected with AIDs. It shows how hard she works to provide for her husband in his last days, in spite of the fact that he is the one who infected her. She also has to find someone to care for her young daughter after she dies, and she finds a friend who stays by her although she is shunned by the other women in the village. She maintains a positive attitude during all her trials. This movie is a keeper, both for the message it gives, and for the scenery of South Africa. I decided to buy it after seeing the movie on TV.

Living in an Iron Lung
Very interesting book about a woman who lived in an iron lung for 61 years. She kept up relationships with many friends over the years because of her positive attitude. She was also able to earn college degrees despite being confined in the iron lung. I bought this book because of the article about her in the Charlotte, NC Observer. I recommend this book for anyone who is interested in a person who overcame many obstacles to create an interesting life for herself.
