Great low budget condenser mic
I use an NT1-a as my workhorse mic for recording and sampling. For the price, it does a great job of capturing the sound. But it will capture everything, including background noise, so ideally used in a quiet recording space. Other more directional mics might serve better if you have to compete with ambient noise like local traffic.

Great value for money
Using for acoustic recordings in a non-ideal environment, it does a great job and capturing the sound without picking up background noise.

great budget whistle
Only slightly more expensive than your standard "entry level" whistle, the ability to actually play in tune more than makes up for the difference. The polymer whistles also have a less abrasive tone so are great for beginners and experienced session players alike.
