Oxford Datsun 240z
1 of 1 found this helpful Given the selling price I wasn't expecting to get a high quality model. Surprise! Its really rather nice. Crisply defined and visually well finished. I recently purchased another Oxford model (Vauxhall Firenza SL) which was also well made for the price. NB these are not toys, these are big boys toys.

Not That Straightforward
To make this work you must remove the cut key blade and fit to the new metal spring clip. This requires removing the tiny retaining pin and filing the end of the blade to fit into the recess. You need to reinsert the pin to lock it in. WARNING: on close inspection the flip mechanism is not quite the same shape as the factory one. You cannot just transfer the whole blade mechanism. The hole the button comes through is also too small for the original. There is a YouTube video that is very good. I purchased a keyblade vice for 15 quid as well to extract the retaining pin. After a couple of hours trial and error I worked all this out. My new key works fine and looks pretty authentic but the process was very fiddly.

Maxichamps Ford Fiesta Zetec mk7 pre-facelift
With Maxichamps being longer production runs of Minichamps models you get lovely attention to detail and accuracy. The quality is high but they should cost a little less than the limited run Minichamps equivalent. Nevertheless a great opportunity to fill in gaps for collectors and, well, anyone else who loves these little models. Remember these are NOT childrens toys and have tiny parts.
