StarTrek Nemesis DVD
2 of 3 found this helpful Excellent film, the last film made by paramount Pictures involving the crew of the USS Starship Enterprise. If you saw the series 'StarTrek The Next Generation' would like this, but you would like it just as much if you never saw the series, as the film is cleverly produced for non-trekkies as well.
Without giving too much away, (as I'm sure you'll want to enjoy the film first hand.) The premise of the story line is about how ones life would turn out under a different set of curcumstances: We are what our experiences in life makes us.
More importantly, how crucial it is in life to always better oneself; to strive to become a better person. These are the aspects that Captain Picard and Data (the Android) try to figure as they foil the Reman leader Shinzon's, plans to destroy Earth.
Film has great surround sound effects, explosions, phaser fire, ship chases, a 4x4 buggy chase in a real desert, combined with a really good philosophical story line.
There are some nice scenes, showing much of the personal life of the crew, and how they're progressing in life.
The dialog is very memorable and Intelligent, you might even go away with some usefull knowledge about Gilbert & Sullivan plays. Patrick Stewart, whom I think is the best British actor that ever lived does a fantastic job carrying this film.
A very powerful scene at the ending, where Data demonstrates the ultimate act of Humanity. Keep a handkerchief ready for the other half...

Airwolf - Series 1 (DVD)
I bought this dvd box because when I was young I used to watch Airwolf and was
fascinated with the world of technology, CIA, design of military aircraft, and general spy stuff, and the Airwolf series met all of my needs.
Series one will blow your socks off and all of the episodes are still interesting in 2010. There are two episodes that are a cut above the rest and stick in mind; "And they are us" and "Fight like a Dove". If you buy Series One then these two will be the ones you will probably watch a few times.
The best episode would have to be Fight like a Dove. What makes it so interesting is that it has a special guest star played by Tovah Feldshuh. An attractive and charismatic intelligent Jewish woman working for the Israilie secret service (quite possibly Mossad, although they don't mention it, it is implied)
She is looking to capture a Nazi war criminal by the name of Hans Kruger who exterminated millions of Jewish people at Daccau. In addition, this war criminal also murdered her father (played by Harry Lebau whose codename was "The Dove") who at that time was trying to capture Kruger to extradite him to Israil for trial.
She manages to find Airwolf and convinces String and Dominic to help her bring Kruger to justice. Unfortunately at the same time Arc Angel is arranging an arms deal with Kruger, which would mean String would have to go up against him.
Arc Angel was selling the most sophisticated SAM (surface to air missile) system called Thor to Kruger, and even worse Kruger was planning to sell them to Iran.
The missile system used a continuous randomly selected frequency and therefore there was no way to block it. In addition the missiles worked intelligently together like a hive mind to trap the target. Obviously at some point String will come up against these in Airwolf, which of course he does and shoots them out of the sky.
There's a lot more in this episode but you'll have to watch it to find out. Suffice it to say that it has a happy ending. The good guys win, and the war criminal gets caught.
