Makita DTM51ZJX7 18v Multi Tool

This is one of those tools that makes you wonder how you managed without it. It is well made and seems to be robust (as all Makita tools I've used are). It's competitively priced around the same as other 'quality' brand. If you have other Makita tools, and therefore batteries, buying it 'bare' is a big saving. It is powerful and the battery life is very good (so far I have only used it. with a 3 amp battery and would expect even more from a higher rated one). So far I've used it for sanding, cutting out rotten wood from window frames and sawing things that would have been impossible to easily or neatly do without it. It's quite heavy but that is a sign that it is a solid bit of kit and partly due to the battery, of course, but it is well balanced and not awkward to hold and use. I'm very pleased with it and would recommend it.

KingKeg 25 Litre Home Brew Pressure Barrel - Top Tap

Does exactly what it's meant to do!

So far so good! I've had two successful brews in it and there is a third settling at the moment. I thought I'd done the wrong thing getting a top tap model but it works very well and I'm happy with it. As you're taking the beer from the top you do not have to wait for the whole barrel to clear - as it clears top down but of course after any secondary fermentation finishes you do have to pressurize it to get the beer out. I knew that and would do so anyway so I'm very pleased with it. It seems to be well made and robust. The tap is also good quality - which is important as I once had a tap blow out on a bottom tap model and I lost an entire brew - the nut and/or screw thread were not good enough to withstand the pressure. I would buy it again and probably will.
