Actually operates as advertised!
13 of 14 found this helpful I am a novice at drone flight and this is my first drone. I'm an older guy. I flew the real thing in my Air Force years. Interestingly the aircraft I flew was the RF-4 "Phantom" which was also a "camera" aircraft. So owning DJI's Phantom 4 Pro is somewhat iconic for me.
So far, I have only flown it in the "P" mode which is nearly fully automatic. It's electronics function flawlessly so far. The auto takeoff and "ILS" work great and it lands softly at exactly the spot from which it took off. The obstacle avoidance system works great and will audibly warn when it is not functioning due to GPS limitations, advising the pilot to pay attention! I look forward to flights in the "A" and "S" modes where it's performance and control responses are significantly enhanced.
I had to print the manual, because the device only came with a "Quick-start" guide. I probably could have written it much more succinctly or user friendly, and may do just that if I decide to trust this aircraft to my teen grandsons. Several areas in the manual are brushed over and unclear, leaving the user confused and/or having to guess or experiment in flight. This aircraft is too expensive to have to experiment with in flight and a novice user should not have to guess with its functionality. I suppose most purchasers have "graduated' from far less expensive aircraft, but I did not. Perhaps I haven't found all the blogs, etc. that would help clarify areas of the controllers functionality because I've seen screens that aren't covered at all in the manual!
It would be nice if the cradle on the controller would have expanded just a bit further to accommodate a standard size I-pad, but I purchased a mini and it works fine. It's maiden flight was with my I-phone 6+ and it worked fine, but the small screen is a detriment.
I'm looking forward to a great experience as I learn this aircraft's full capabilities!

Easy and fit
Only issue is that I only needed one. But buying the pair was still easier/cheaper than searching salvage yards
