Value for money.
First impressions it's well made and practical.
Padding is good although soft, gives protection but don't expect a safe-box. Will be fine in normal use.About what you'd find in a regular soft camera bag.
My '73 Yashica 35mm rangefinder Electro 35 fits in like it was made for it, so useful to the film shooting fraternity as well as the digital..
Says it's waterproof... will probably dose it with a tent spray anyway if any concerns.
Front pocket takes a small flashgun.
Carrying strap a good length, adjustment easy.
A good anonymous piece, I guess you'd pay far more for a branded type, and advertise to the light-fingered as well.
Snazzy red, - at least not easy to forget in a coffee bar or at the side of a river!

retro style with its own character
As an owner of an original IMCO since 2008 I really like this one.
Listed as IMCO Style, which is accurate - it's a chromed diecast unit, not stainless steel pressing as the Austrian, also the flint and spring are located in a more conventional way and to me comes across as more robust than IMCO's mechanism. So IMCO style but no where near identical.
The diecasting appears decent quality with the decoration on the body well done, crisp and defined, and the chrome seems good, longevity remains to be seen. All the mechanism is working nicely on my sample,
Comparing the fuel reservoir with that on my IMCO original, it's a bit narrower, due to the fact that the diecast wall of the body is obviously thicker than the pressed stainless steel of its Austrian inspiration. So not one if you're really looking for a source of spares for old original IMCOs,
I did have an initial issue with getting the reliable "first time every time" lighting this design is known for, but found the answer, a two minute bit of "battlefield surgery" which doesn't put me off the lighter one bit.
It might be something that was unique to my example, but the fuel reservoir didn't seat with the tube that sits over the wick. So the wick was evaporating fuel from the gap, and when the flint sparked was not primed with the fuel. Also fuel was not going to last long!
The quick answer is a bit of kitchen foil compressed into a pellet about 2mm deep and put into the slip-off base of the fuel reservoir. With a little tweaking you get a good seal at the top, and a typical genuine 24-carat IMCO "first-time" light, and more lights for your fill-up.
To me this just gives it a bit of character, dead easy to sort and oh by the way creates a spot for a spare flint at the same time! Now you're ready for a camping trip, military shows or just a pint and a smoke outside a windswept pub!

WISH EVERYTHING WAS AS SIMPLE AS CASIO F91W!
1 of 1 found this helpful FOR THE MONEY IT'S STILL GOOD HONEST VALUE.
ICONIC SIMPLICITY, CHEAP AS CHIPS,
NO FRILLS, IT TELLS THE TIME WITH MAYBE AN ADJUSTMENT AFTER A COUPLE OF MONTHS.
FOR ME THAT'S CLOSE ENOUGH FOR DAY TO DAY USE- PUT IT THIS WAY, YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO CATCH A BUS OR TRAIN BY IT.
WHAT ELSE DO YOU NEED FROM A BUDGET WATCH?
FIGURES COULD BE LARGER IF YOUR EYESIGHT'S NOT TOO GOOD, THAT'S ABOUT ALL, BUT WITH GLASSES OR CONTACT LENS NOT A BIG DEAL.
