Quite simply the best
I had high hopes for this PMP (hate the term usually, but as the screen really is something special i need to include the film function so can't just call it an MP3 player) and was delighted to not be disappointed with it.
The sound quality through my Grado SR60's is just astonishing, the clarity of every note and vocal track is something that i didn't think possible on a portable player.
It takes a fair while to choose which of the sound settings to use (there's loads) and usually i would bypass such rubbish, however, on the S9 it really works, but then sound has always been the chief interest of cowon (the founder/chairman of the company worked as chief sound engineer for Samsung prior to starting the company)however this latest model also features the new technology of Amoled screen.
Now those who don't know about this, it is essentially a new technology that does away with the need for a backlight (such as those found on LCD screens) which in turn makes the colours more vibrant (as the compound in the screen itself creates the light and is not merely just light shone through colours) but also uses alot less power.
As such there is up to 11 hours Video playback and an astounding 55 hours music.
Quite simply if you just want something to play your MP3's and the odd film on with the best sound and video quality and don't care about things like applications, wifi and a load of other stuff that drains batteries and takes up precious memory space then you really can't go far wrong with the Cowon S9

One Spoon to rule them all...
Spoon is the only saddle I have ridden on in the past 5 years after DECADES of trying ones costing pennies and hundreds.

Doesn't work for me
Slugs still all over my French marigolds.
Followed all instructions of how to use but evidently Derbyshire slugs are either mega hard or this doesn't work.
