The initial concept seems so unlikely. However, the book appears well researched and the evidence gathered is compelling.
Could this be what happened? Unless further evidence is discovered in the vaults of the National Archives, we may never know. Having said that, one of the Secret Service Agents, who was present in the follow up vehicle, is still alive. (Actually, the only person to be present in both the Presidential Vehicle and the SS follow up car - Clint Hill who ran from the follow up car and clambered onto the boot of JFK’s car, after the first shot rang out...)
