Emperor - In The Nightside Eclipse - 20th Anniversary Collector's Edition 2CD
06 Nov, 2018
Wonderfully presented and beautifully made special edition in hardback digi-book format.
If you're reading this, it's unlikely you need an introduction to this album. But if you do, all you really need to know is this is one of the most important albums in the 2nd wave of Black Metal. It's a cornerstone of the genre and widely referred to as the first true symphonic black metal album. It set Emperor apart from almost every other band in the scene at the time and they pioneered a new sound/direction with this record. Moving onto the product itself, this is a beautifully made and beautifully presented digi-book. Ever the fan of a limited or special edition, I'm particularly partial to a digipak version, and this hard-back digi-book is stunning. Two CDs (one of the original album + three bonus tracks, and a second with an alternative mix/production + 3 previously unreleased bonus tracks. Inside there's 8 heavyweight matte pages (16 sides) of photos, and an interview with the band from 2005. The cover art extends fully to the edge of the hardback cover, front and back, as well as inside behind the the discs, and has never looked better, in my opinion - at least not on a CD version anyway. If you already have the original CD, buy this anyway. It's such a beautiful item it's worth having just to look at and own. If you don't have the album, then buy it to fix that problem!

NEW KITCHEN CRAFT NON STICK POACHING POACHED OR FRIED EGG RINGS
14 Mar, 2018
On the surface they're great - until you use them...
What a great idea - drop them in the pan, crack an egg into it, and you end up with a perfectly round fried egg. Except that's not what happens. Firstly, they're not deep enough. You can barely fit a medium egg into it. If you try to use a large egg, it will overflow. Secondly, the "leak". Because they're too shallow, if you crack the egg into it at anything other than an extreme movie-style slow motion, they leak the egg out form under it. Try to use a large egg and no matter how slowly you do it, it's too much albumen for them to take, so it leaks out. Thirdly, they don't stay round. Once you've used them once or twice, you'll notice that they begin to go a bit oval shaped. They can't take the heat needed for frying an egg all the way through. Lastly, they aren't non-stick. Try getting these to just slide off your egg once you've cooked. Yep, not gonna happen. And you don't dare pick them up, cos they're made of metal so they've absorbed all the heat and burn your fingers. So there you are, chasing them round your nice non-stick pan with a knife trying to separate the egg from the ring. Not good. And then you've got to clean them - which, because there not non-stick even though it says they are, means you have to scrub and scrub them. Guess what happens when you do that? They become even less non-stick. So on the surface these look ideal - but in reality, they're rubbish. I binned them after then third use.

Live - Selling The Drama (CD Single)

It's a CD
It's a CD. It spins round, and music comes out. Can't go wrong. Unless you don't like the band of course.
