    Item arrived and was as-described, though Evri/Hermes (the courier this item was sent by) had clearly tampered with the parcel, tearing it open to see what was inside, before they resealed it (badly) with cheap parcel tape, and delivering it onwards. Thank God they didn’t deem Proust’s classic novel worthy of being nicked! Seller would be politely advised to NOT use Evri/Hermes in future.

    So sorry to hear about the disgraceful behaviour of the courier, no I won't be using Evri for future deliveries and will take this up with them. However I'm pleased you did receive the book in good condition and hope you enjoy it.

Logitech Squeezebox Classic SB3

Still haven't found anything better.
The squeezebox networked audio system had been around a long time, starting in 2001, with this product, the Classic, being released in 2005, making it 15 years old or more. The squeezebox system still had a lot going for it, it will play almost any audio file, it supports the majority of streaming platforms such as tidal, Qobuz, and more, it will play YouTube audio and has excellent synchronisation between players. has an excellent BBC sounds plugin, plus it sounds good, especially when using an external dac. On top of that it has a very active and dedicated support forum, so should things change externally, for instance when Google change the YouTube protocol or the BBC completely redesign sounds with no notice, one of the excellent fortin members generally gets it back up and running in no time. I went through a stage of thinking I should really upgrade to something new and still in production a couple of years back, around the time of the BBC iplayer revamp, nothing came close, it took Sonos a m other 6 months to get iplayer working, squeezebox fixed it in two weeks! Although not as easy to set up as Sonos, not as pretty as Rune (which it can't match for music metadata and album jnfo), it sounds just as good as either (not the SB3, as it's only cd quality), the open source nature of the software and the excellent forum make it difficult to beat. On top of that the Squeezebox classic has an excellent IR remote which is surprisingly useful for quick stop, starts m pauses and volume changes. Oh and the smart phobia apps are brilliant plus there have been some excellent software updates recently. Give it a try, software is free and the players are cheap.

reliable workhorse
Inherited my 2100 a couple of years ago. It is now running on a home network and has performed virtually faultlessly. The only problems it has had is the occasional multi sheet feed, but this is cured by cleaning the paper ppickup rubber roller with a cloth moistned with isopropyl alcohol. Excellent machine, highly recomended.
