Excellent overview of the Civil War with stories of those who experienced it.
Excellent Book! Well written and great pictures. Overall quality of the book is wonderful. The author's explanation of the economic/political conflicts that led to the Civil War still reverberate today. A sobering reminder of what fear, anger and pride can do to a nation. In this large book, the author tells the military and personal stories without getting bogged down in the minute details of each battle. I've learned so much, and I'm just into 1863!

Good Mallet
Have used Garland mallets for years in my Tin Shop. I have several sizes. They are the best. I do need to break them in a bit when new. Repeated careful hammering on a clean anvil works well to soften the edges. They have a good balance and little rebound.
